I have found these to be best with Skype and for listening to books on tape. They are especially good at canceling out the ambient sound while talking to someone on Skype. My computer has a built in mic so I always think that it is sufficient but I know from listening to other people that the built in mic is not very good. I'd like to put a pair of these on everyone I talk to in the course of a day. The Plantronics are comfortable to wear and I have found them to be expandable enough even for my big head. If you wear headphones a lot, you'll want better comfort and sound. For "on-the-go," you could want something more compact. USB connection -- not for phones. I'm actually somewhat disappointed that this headset connects to devices via USB. Personally, I would have preferred something that I can plug into my cell phone or home phone. Overall the headset is quite functional. I can't say it's the most comfortable, but for quick conversations, that won't last for hours, it's comfortable enough. The best feature is the Inline control panel, which, again, would have been great to use with other devices that do not have a USB. Sound quality was fine, it isn't bluetooth so there isn't that much you're risking as it is directly connected to your PC or Mac. Price wise it is a little more than I'd want to pay, but overall you're getting a pretty good headset. |
