First of all, I liked how it sits very flush along my face. Other headsets I've seen stick way out and make you look like a cyborg. Secondly, I found it REALLY easy to use. Jabra did a great job when it comes to laying out the location of the buttons. My previous headset had all the buttons on the face and I found that it was hard to find them and often ended up pressing the wrong ones. The BT2080's ANSWER/END button is by itself on the front face. The rocker type volume switch is on the top/side of the headset. It has a dedicated power button on the backside of the headset. On my old headset, I had to press the ANSWER/END button to turn it ON/OFF. Also the location and size of the power button means there is less chance that it will inadvertantly get turned on when its in my pocket or laptop bag. I just bought one of these at a local retail store over the weekend. I was hesitant because the old one I had was plagued with the exact same problems this one has, so obviously I should've trusted my intuition and gone another way. The original Jabra bluetooth headset I had was one of their older, less expensive models which I figured was the reason I was having problems with it. The old headset would work great if I was in the car with the phone sitting in the cup holder next to me. I also had to be wearing the headset on the same side of my body that the phone was sitting so there was clear line of sight between the two devices. The minute I would get out of the car and put the phone in my pocket, it started crackling, cutting out, completely losing connection to the phone, and basically becoming a HUGE point of frustration for me. The eargel is comfortable but will not last long. It breaks down quickly. The only replacement option from Jabra is a $10 headset kit, with 2 earloops and one eargel. This will get expensive! I called Jabra and there were no other options. If I had known this, I would not have bought it. I am looking for a 3rd party solution...if anyone knows of one. |
