I was a bit hesitant after reading a few of the reviews, but went ahead anyways. The battery was not "naked" when received. Came as shown, dropped into place, after removing double sided tape backing, put phone back together and it turned on no problems. Thanks for the item.

My iphone 3G had become unreliable because the original battery would no longer hold a charge. During my research to replace the battery, I was led here. The Apple store kindly recommended replacing the phone as they do not replace batteries. I was not ready for that as the iphone is great when it is charged! Replacing the battery was a snap and I had it done in 10 minutes. I wish I would have done this sooner.

Great Product-You Can't go wrong!By Keith Rossrucker
If you need a battery replacement for your iphone 3g, I would recommend this product. My iphone 3G, after 3years, was only holding a charge for about 6 hours with almost everything turned off or down. I purchased the battery with tool kit from BestDealUSA through Amazon, as an Amazon prime customer. The cost was $5.49 with free two day shipping. The product arrived in two days with everything you see in the picture (including the necessary tab/connector on the battery). No surprises-exactly what I ordered.
I went online and used two web sites that described the procedure in great detail.

I mostly followed the YouTube video while using the zoom shots from the other site for a close up view. Some things I experienced:
1. You lift off the glass-don't pry the case apart. I almost made this mistake.
2. The glass is tough to get off-just keep working it.
3. When you lift the glass, be careful not to pull the "1" ribbon connector off as the glass comes up and off quickly once you break the seal.
4. My battery was glued down firmly, just be careful and keep working it.
5. My new battery had a new glue strip on it.
6. The main board was a bit tough to get back in. You have to start at the top and push it into a little rubber shock absorber (I have no idea what it's technical name is), line up the little pins and just ease it in.
I powered the phone back up and it showed 100% percent charge. However, the charge started to run down quickly-within 2 hours. I was concerned that I had a rip off battery. However, I charged it overnight and now the phone holds a charge like it did when it was new. Days, not hours.
Clearly, after 3 years, my iphone was out of warranty and for $5.49 I had nothing to lose. I am ordering another for my 2nd iphone that is experiencing the same issue. Good luck!
