The MiFi2200 has rubber plugs, but does not have an external antenna port, so a regular antenna would not work with it. This is the reason for my buying this antenna, and this antenna works out great with it. On the coverage map on the Virgin Mobile site, it shows my location to not have very good signal, tests without the antenna kit show results of 0-1 bars. I am able to get EvDO with this (which from what I understand is the equivalent of 3G).When I plugged in the antenna and placed it next to my MiFi, I almost instantly went from no service to 4 bars. You will need an adapter for home use because it comes with a 12v cigarette lighter style power plug... unless you are in a vehicle all the time,you will need one of these also. They run around $2-5 with shipping included. This also worked to boost the signal on my AT&T phone, though I did not try out the advertised multi-user... Note that the best signal is on the side of the inside antenna with the self adhesive tape. The amplifier gets quite warm. I was in a campsite with one bar to 'no service' at Ochoco county park yesterday. This signal booster gave me five bars if I held the tape side of the inside antenna against the back of my AT&T iPhone 4. Even with the inside antenna five or six feet away from my phone (but in line with the antenna), I got a reliable 2 bars of signal.
