I rarely give 5-star reviews because I'm fairly hard to please. This headset earns a 5 from me for the following reasons:1) Has multi-point pairing for TWO cell phones (see the manual for how). Please note it won't, however, pair with a cell phone and a different type of device (at least not in my experience); I tried pairing this with my laptop and my cell phone and the laptop will not see the device. I did not try it in the reverse order, laptop first then cell phone, but I don't think it works that way either. 2) The sound quality it pretty darn good. I use it to watch TV shows on Hulu on my laptop sometimes so I can keep the sound private and the sound is way better than laptop speakers. Yeah, I know that doesn't mean much, but it's also as good as my headphones. 3) The charge. It lasts a LONG time. I kept the earphone on for more than 24 hours straight and used it for 6 hours of that time and it still was not completely dead. Charging is also... I realize that Bluetooth headset experience is different from smartphone to smartphone. So it is advisable that you research which Bluetooth headset works better for your use and your smartphone. I use Bluetooth mostly in indoors (in the car while driving or in the office).[NOTE: Samsung HM1700 Bluetooth is used with HTC Radar 4G (Windows Phone 7)]. 1. EASY SETUP. Once you have charged HM1700, you could easily connect with your smartphone. I had no trouble connecting it with my HTC Radar. The phone quickly detected it and identified it as HM1700 and automatically connected it. 2. CLARITY. The sound was very clear in indoors and was adequate outside. WP7 "TellMe" worked flawlessly (For example: I used the command "Call Home" and the phone without a hitch called my home). Outdoor experience was good and clear for BOTH ends. This little guy came partially charged. As one of the other reviewers pointed out, the battery life is very good. My HTC Evo 4G picked this up right away and had no issues connecting to it. I'm giving it 4 stars because the sound is not as good as one of my more expensive Jawbone device. Some said I came across too low. I also find the call pick up/hang up button a little clumsy to use.On the other hand, I find the build quality better than my Jawbone. I like the flexibility with the ear loop or or not. The receiving quality is very good. If you don't want to pony up for the more expensive Plantronics and Jawbone models, this is a worth a look. |
